Haines Alaska Heli ski gear
Peter Stone · 30 items
This gear list is tailored for Peter Stone’s heli-skiing trip to Haines, Alaska, where deep snow and steep, remote terrain demand high-performance equipment. Skis should be a minimum of 115mm underfoot and mounted with durable alpine bindings to ensure maximum flotation and control in variable big mountain conditions. Critical avalanche safety gear includes a beacon, shovel, probe, and airbag pack, while a well-designed layering system and weatherproof outerwear are essential for protection against Alaskan winter elements. A 30–35L backpack should carry all safety tools, hydration, spare layers, and high-energy snacks for long days in the field.
