About

Hello, I'm Maria Fernanda, also known as the sail queen of Jolly Good Times Sailing. Despite being born in Cali, Colombia, which is not very close to the ocean, life took me on an unexpected journey, and now I'm a proud sailor and co-founder of Jolly Good Times Sailing in Norway. I've had some incredible experiences living and traveling in various parts of the world, I have to tell you that.

Before co-founding Jolly Good Times Sailing, I worked in the film industry, including on projects in some pretty amazing places, such as Cuba, France, England, Spain, Estonia, and even my hometown of Colombia.

Despite the excitement and glamour of the film world, I found that I needed something more fulfilling. That's when I met my partner, Ulrik, and we decided to create Jolly Good Times Sailing. Our goal is to share our love for nature, the sea, and all its wonders with fellow adventurers.

Over the years, the sea has provided me with countless unforgettable memories and challenges. From catching sight of sea turtles and dolphins frolicking to watching majestic whales breach, these are memories that will stay with me forever.

When I'm not out at sea, you can find me in the galley, whipping up some delicious eats. I absolutely love to cook and I find great joy in seeing people enjoy my food. To me, there's nothing more satisfying than watching someone take that first bite and seeing the look of pure enjoyment on their face. I'm always looking to improve my culinary skills and discover new flavors, so come on over and be my guinea pig.

If you're ready to embark on the journey of your lifetime, come aboard Jolly Good Times Sailing! I promise we'll have a boatload of fun and you won't go hungry on my watch!

Norwegian Ski and Sail in Lyngen

Finmark and the Lyngen Alps are regions with thousands of opportunities to ski. It is not one mountain, but countless. This areas has a direct connection with the sea and the weather plays a great role in where we will ski when you are aboard. And as the forecast itself, which is only reliable for a day or two, plays the main role in where we set our course.

What we can promise is that you will ski in uninhabited areas with the backcountry for ourselves. To set an itinerary months before departure is simply not possible as the guides point out the optimal route based on the weather from the days and  weeks before. And rest assured, our IMFGA certified guides are local and knows the region and should be able to find us some fluffy powder between the pointy peaks and uninhabited fjords. This area is also very rich in fish, so expect to get served some fresh catch during your week and remember that it is always a big chance to see the northern lights.

But our ski and sail trip isn't just about the skiing. As your hosts, we are committed to providing you with an exceptional experience.

From the moment you arrive, Maria, Ulrik & Ramoncito will make you feel right at home, taking care of every detail so you can fully immerse yourself in the adventure. With our warm and welcoming nature, you'll feel like part of the family in no time. Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime ski and sail journey with Jolly Good Times Sailing!
