A true ski bum at heart, Heather hung up her hardhat as a Journeywoman Millwright, to chase after the her dream of becoming a guide. Her early years included sending it with the ‘RMF’ Rocky Mountain Freeriders and 10 years as a ski patroller. Sharing her love for the mountains with others is what fulfills her most and you can see that in her smile.

Avalanche Canada’s nationally recognized Avalanche Skills Training Level One or AST 1 for short is known as the prerequisite for anyone looking to get into the avalanche backcountry environment. Our BLAST courses (Backcountry Learning and Avalanche Skills Training) are based on the most advanced knowledge available to teach the fundamentals of decision making in backcountry avalanche terrain.
We provide a big picture approach and teach tips and tricks to set you up for success for when you’re out there on your own (with a friend, just perhaps not a guide).
